let me restate my position on GW. I am an agnostic as to whether it is or is not happening and if it is happening if it is man made.

Since John is pressing the issue, I guess I'll weigh in, too. You might want to reconsider, or perhaps more carefully word, your position.

The earth has been warming for a half century or so. I don't see how one can be agnostic about that. Ya gotta start thinking about using the l-word when somebody denies that. It may have hit its all time today and will start heading down tomorrow, but for a half century it has been warming.

And the likelihood of human activity not contributing to the warming effect has to be in slim to none territory. It may not be contributing much, but it stretches the imagination to discount that likelihood entirely given what we know about pollution.

That doesn't mean you have to jump on the Gore bandwagon. It only means that you get to participate in the discussion rather than being written off as outside of reality or some political hack.

My position is that if it is happening it is going to happen for whatever the reason.

I think you are correct in that. The political issue isn't that it's happening it's what, if anything, to do about it. Seems to me that you want to be part of that discussion. If you aren't, then the "hysterics" are the dominant voice.
