1980 interest rates:

I had just finished graduate school and my mom got sick, so I went down to California to fix up her house, sell it and move her up here to be near me.

It took two years to sell it and the person had to get an interest rate of 14.5%. I then bought a duplex for my mom and she paid 13.5%.

What peaked my interest is that I do not hear anyone (cnbc pundits, or others) talking about how inflation wll push up interest rates.

Just imagine the present sub prime problem with 12% interest rates. I am in the real estate field. The impact on the present sub prime debacle is unimaginable. It could easily turn a recession into a depression.
