Are you suggesting that he either streeetched the truth or that he is ignorant or naive about simple economic issues?

I don't have a strong opinion either way. I prefer to think that Rezko took it upon himself to arrange things in such a way that Obama was able to get a bargain on the house. Slimy opportunists try to cozy up to politicians all the time.

I'd think better of Obama if he'd severed all relationship with Rezko once the guy's character became known. I see the question not so much one of honesty even though the truth of the deal has been obfuscated, IMO. So to me the problem is either one of being naive or of being aware of Rezko's intents but being maybe a little greedy and willing to ignore what Rezko was doing.

But generally speaking, none of it really affects my vote for Obama. I'm just envisioning how much damage might be done to him in the fall with this issue.
