I'm pretty sure that commodity prices right now....both hard and soft....are almost divorced from fundamentals and in the hands of speculators. Week before last the CBOE moved to raise margin requirements....almost egregiously....to levels thought to cool off speculation. I took this as an indication that the pros also see the speculative excesses building.

Tonight in the debate, did anyone notice that Hillary basically said this too?

She went on to say that were she POTUS, she'd be calling for an investigation into market manipulation, the same kind that took place with Enron and bankrupted CA utilites and other companies and severely strained municipalities in CA.

It's a tragedy that she is treated with such contempt, especially from other democrats, and cannot be elected. Her understanding of the way things work continues to amaze me. She's so far ahead of Obama....not that he can't catch up to her level...but she is so incredibly prepared to walk right in that office and take over. I could cry. She just runs circles around him.

If she were POTUS today, the market manipulators would be running for cover. As it is we'll see more bankruptcies, not just airlines, probably a few truckers as well as an array of small business across this country before this eggregious bubble in commodity prices runs its course and pops the way all bubbles have.

Sigh....now I think I will cry......ugh.
