Yipes, that graph says something astonishing about total US demand. Look at 1970-1990 and the total rate of change of oil use. Early 70's were on a very steep increase. It actually fell in the early 80's and looks like it is falling now again. The end of civilization as we now it didn't happen before, so why do all the nitwits claim we can't change our consumption? 65 B BPD Nit picking: 65 M BPD sounds more like it.
