So do many poor foreigners <many wealthy foreigners want to move here. >

And all too many of them get in too. They say it is great here. They are right. They get a free house, free food, free medical treatment, free schools, free roads, everything already built for them even if they do have to pay a nominal fee for some things such as water supplies.

My friend's neighbours murdered a NZ guy recently after catching him and beating him then dumping him dead at Auckland hospital. The police have arrested 3 of them so far. Middle East variety murderous bludgers.

I suppose they are a heroin/opium import gang and the Hamiltonian was doing some sort of deal which was obviously unsatisfactory. He tried to back down the drive way, but one of the gang's cars coming up the driveway blocked him. He jumped a hedge and after a chase across the Ellerslie Panmure Highway, beat him up and killed him [perhaps over a period of time].

As far as solidity of banks is concerned, let's wait and see how solid they are when NZ$/Oz$ drop by half vs yen/US$ and house prices also drop by half and unemployment takes off. .

It might be that mortgages are not backed by sufficient collateral to cover the loans.

That's a 1950s idea: <NZ is perceived as a safe, secure and peaceful place to live, > A lot of people don't "perceive" that now. I don't. My wife's uncle was murdered, nephew's ex girl friend murdered [Marie Jamieson], wife's school mate murdered [Susan Burdett].
