Rob, I see your thinking. Your view and Frank's seem to correspond.

I can't see a coherent strategy among existing mobile players, but they act as if they have one.

They've spent billions (more) in recent spectrum auctions; both the structure of the auctions themselves, and the actions of the winners seem designed to perpetuate status quo.

If status quo is threatened as we propose, what can they be thinking?

For the next 10 years (in North America anyway), it looks like more of the same. In the long run, (15-20 years) I think you're right.
