Bob, a few points of clarification:

If I recall correctly, AM was going to ship the HP tests free with their Prilosec treatment. AM was not going to make a dime selling the kits. In fact, they would have lost money on the deal. Further, AM discovered that the core market for Prilosec is to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, rather than HP which is eradicated using much less expensive antibiodics.

Here is an important quote from biz.yahoo.com

''We know that many more prescriptions for Prilosec are written to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) than H. Pylori associated ulcers. The decision reflects efforts to focus on the core business. Our confidence in the ability for HpChek to detect the H. Pylori antibodies remains high.''

Quidel, the first company to ship an HP test, has been doing very well with it.

Also, the whole idea behind a home-based drug test, like Parent's Alert, is to learn about your kids' drug use without "official" records of the test. Any test performed by a lab will go on the kid's record, which can then affect his or her future in unforseen ways. That's why Sunny Cloud invented the home-based test in the first place.
