A great place to start is by sending the Balkanized state (plus DC) insurance regulators the way of the dinosaur and transitioning to a national agency to oversee the industry. It would be a great benefit to our economy to make another industry more efficient. It would probably cost a great number of people who specialize in states's regulations their status in various insurance companies, but I doubt if it would cost many their jobs.

I tend to favor states rights and oppose federalization. In this case it costs real Americans real money.
