To take that argument to the extreme, we would only build government buildings that are square boxes - because that is the cheapest and easiest. The oil companies and farmers have been given huge government subsidies over the years and all is if you can give them a subsidy, why not help industries that create good jobs, and a clean energy that doesn't pollute. It may be hard to put into "economic" terms such advantages to the people of less pollution (read less asthma and allergies) and energy independence from ME oil kingdoms - but those "economic" advantages are very very real. Lower health care cost and no Iraq payments - to name just two. steve
