To All, I just heard that Atmel is now offering a low-density PLD (programmable logic device) with virtually a zero power standby requirement which makes it perfect for battery-power applications. The circuit is the first of a planned series of zero power "Z" PLDs. It will be available with speeds of 12 & 15 nanoseconds, affording designers the industrys best speed-power product. The new circuit will be perfect for anything portable. Atmel continues to be in my opinion always a step ahead of the competition. All the talk on the other Atmel thread regarding future margin erosion seems unlikely with such innovation.
