Zeus,

I think we've discussed this enough already.

They need to improve the thoroughness of their backround and psychological checks on potential priests to raise the standards and make sure they they don't get any people that have psychological problems or confused ideas about their sexuality.

They need to get rid of anyone (priest, bishop, or cardinal) where there is reasonable evidence of abuse and turn them over to law enforcement.

They need to upgrade the quality of the legal, medical, and practical advice they get on how to deal with priests that have problems like this. That was one of the problems. For decades they were getting advice on sexual matters from people that knew less than nothing about this kind of behavior.

It's going to take some time and will require seperating the sick people, from the bad people, from the people that got bad advice, and then handling each in the appropriate way. I don't think a witch hunt and burning at the stake of everyone that made a mistake is the correct approach.
