That's the same rationale for staying in Iraq.

Twenty-five years is long enough and the trends are clear...at least to me.

The only thing left is to dismantle social security and medicare. Most people would survive and adapt. It wouldn't be the end of the world. Three generations of families could easily live in one house and save tons of money by sharing vehicles, utilities, etc. and buying nothing but essential items.

I might even like it...I get lonesome without my funny kids around.

The economy would shrink such that all need for more nuclear or coal-fired plants would disappear.

But is this what conservatism was all about?

Seriously, what is it that you see as remaining to be done?

And how will McCain do anything but take us further down this path?
