Lane, <<The most basic offense is that we have to have a "debate" every five minutes>> I disagree. The problem isn't the number of debates, it is how they are set up. The reason why we don't get anything more than soundbites is because they cover the same ground at each debate. We all watch to see if someone slips up, looks at their watch at the wrong time or signs inappropriately. What I would like to see is a debate based on issues being discussed substantively. We should have been able to get one on healthcare, one on the economy, one on the war in Iraq etc. It won't happen because the press is only into gotchas and soundbite moments. Neal
