I should start by saying I've been hanging out with my dad a lot lately, a big admirer of JFK. When Caroline Kennedy and others in the clan endorsed he got all excited and had me pick him up an Obama lawn sign from the local HQ. It was infectious, I couldn't help but feel some excitement as well. I attended a rally and came away a little disappointed, all I heard was liberal boilerplate. It was hard to understand what all the buzz was about. Tribal BS aside, I still had the feeling that it would be good for the country if a black guy was elected president, the idea of it was bigger than any differences on policy.

Now I'd be content just to see him run a good race, something black folks could point to with pride.
