George Snufalufagus Defends ABC and Debate Performance - Fails at That, Too

George Stephanooulos (I call him Snufalufugus) scrambled to defend his debate performance and that of Charlie Gibson's in the debate on Wednesday night. In an interview with Greg Sargent of TPM, Stephanopoulos, former press secretary under Slick Willy, and current Clintonista, lied continuously about how all the questions during the first half of the debate were focused "at the top on the issues that had been at the center of the debate since the last debate." Since the last debate? Lapel pins? The last debate was in Texas on February 21. The lapel pin controversy was whipped up in OCTOBER of LAST YEAR.
The handling of the debate by both Gibson and Stephanopoulos was both sophomoric and silly, piling on Obama for every irrelevant, superficial issue they could shovel. George also lied when he said that Hillary faced tough questioning, also. Yes, they did ask her about her lies about Bosnia AGAIN, but she gave the canned answer and they moved back to pounding Obama about William Ayers, the former 1970's Weathermen member who happens to live in Obama's neighborhood in Chicago.
The whole thing was silly. Nothing of substance was talked about, Obama was off his game trying to fend off stupid gotcha questions while Hillary beamed at the onslaught by her personal Clintonista asking the planted question from Sean Hannity. What a waste of air time. And a low point for ABC.
