The Colbert Report was great last night. First, after some "technical" difficulties with video, Hillary Clinton showed up to fix the problem. Then, "The Word," the best feature on the Colbert show, was delivered by John Edwards, who was funnier than Hell. Unlike Hillary and the other guy, he seemed to be an accomplished actor. At the end, Obama was contacted on remote feed ("I'll bet Senator Clinton is glad she fixed our video now"). The only missing factor was John McCain, who has never appeared on Colbert, though he has been on The Daily Show many times.
I have been complaining all week that the broadcasts from Philadelphia, though delivered from The University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg Center, were kind of low on comedy. Last night made up for it. Repeats today on Comedy Central at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Eastern. |
