I don't see the costs coming down anytime soon, especially not with universal health care.

Most likely the costs will be passed onto someone else, i.e. those who can "afford" it. Watch Big Pharma get it in the shorts first. Maybe that's a good thing given what they do to protect their profit margins, but the baby is likely going to be thrown out with the bath water.

There are a lot of other points we could discuss, but I for one am glad I'm not in the health care industry. And to think that my parents tried to push me toward med school because doctors make so much money, LOL ...
