"But i guess they failed because iraq can never be pacified in the way they planned." Pretty much. Any doubts that we could roll up Saddam's forces should have been put to rest during Gulf War I. The question has always been if Iraq could be stabilized. I wasn't happy when they didn't take Saddam out in GWI. But, Cheney made a very good case of why it was a bad idea. Too bad he forgot.
