4/18/08 update
Investors apparently got bored with the doom-and-gloom story this week and stocks had a decent rally. When they rang the Friday closing bell, the Nasdaq Composite Index had cut its YTD loss from down -13.65% YTD a week ago to down -9.40% YTD, while the Nasdaq Biotech Index had cut its loss from down -4.68% YTD a week ago to down -3.53% YTD.
The median of the Contest portfolios also improved over the week, although just slightly, from down -9.52% YTD the prior Friday to down -8.98% YTD at this Friday's close.
At Friday's close, 11 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 15 of the portfolios beating the NBI. ROBERT's portfolio maintained its lead with a 23.95% YTD gain and GENE's portfolio held on to second place with a 17.90% YTD gain.
Have a wonderful weekend people!
