With millions of boomers retiring, we have to get the cost down... You can easily get the cost down by merely cutting the quality of the health care. The reason we have the best health care in the world is that we spend more on it than anyone else. Why do we do that? Because we value human life sufficiently that we (e.g., Medicare) will pay $6,000 per infusion for a chemo drug (or drugs) that may prolong someones life. In addition, we subsidize the same drugs sold for less money worldwide, which we shouldn't be doing.
