Apple says 2 senior vice presidents resign
CUPERTINO, Calif., Oct 15 (Reuters) - Apple Computer Corp said Wednesday that two senior vice presidents had resigned, marking another high-level executive change at the embattled company.
Dave Manovich, senior vice president of international Sales, and James McCluney, senior vice president of worldwide operations, resigned to pursue other interests, Apple said.
Steve Jobs, Apple's interim chief executive, said of the resignations, ''We don't expect to hit any speedbumps as a result of these changes.''
Apple is conducting searches to fill both positions.
Manovich had been with Apple most recently since February 1997. Mitch Mandich, senior vice president for North American sales, will serve as interim head of international sales.
McCluney had been with Apple since July 1996. Heidi Hedlund, Apple senior director of operations product management, will serve as interim head of operations.
Since July, Apple has been searching for a new chief executive to replace Gil Amelio, who was ousted by the board in July.
Last week co-founder Jobs said he was thinking about dropping the ''interim'' from his title. |
