Did Mahr say he IS a Nazi or he was a Nazi?

I started a reply to you yesterday afternoon, saying that the Nazi line was a throwaway and that the real point of Mahr's rant was that, if a CIO did what the Pope did in covering up child molestation, he'd be in jail, but it sounded too much like an apology for Mahr's comments and I deleted it.

Last night on the show, as his "apology", Mahr said exactly that...he sorta took back the Nazi remark and emphasized the Pope/CIO aspect, which BTW, I think is perfectly accurate.

Regarding the argument as to whether or not Ratzinger was a Nazi, he was. He was a member of the Hitler Youth and there can be no doubt that he can be called an ex-Nazi with no danger of libel.

However, he did not have his heart into it and was by all accounts a tepid member at best.

So I think it is safe to say he was a Nazi but he really wasn't. <g>
