I also firmly believe they are fairly ruthless tactical politicians who will exploit any opening they see that would work to their advantage. Obama won big in SC so the Clintons needed a spin that was "dismissive and somewhat belittling" to try to convince voters in future primary states that Obama hadn't won on his merits, just because he was black.

They could have said congratulations and well done and let's fight hard in the next race. That's the kind of sportsmanship we teach our children on Little League fields. But instead we got that rude Jackson comparison, whining to the press about their perceptions of unfair coverage and so on.

Those of us who are junkies about this race and hear pretty much every major quote uttered by the Clintons have formed strong opinions based on what they said themselves.

The fact that Hillary was oscillating wildly between "I am so honored to run against you" to "Shame on you!" in a matter of hours was weird enough. Everything else before and after just reinforces our lack of comfort with her consistency and character.
