I don't particularly care when Gingrich cheated on his wife. I don't even care much that he did. Yes, its a sin and a shame, but thats between him, his family and God.

I would have felt the same about Clinton, but he tried to lie out of it (even committing perjury and advising others to do so too) and made the whole thing into a major scandal that diverted attention from more serious matters. I did oppose impeachment at the time on the grounds that I think it hurt the nation.

Recognizing people are sinners, all of us including me, is not abandonment of values. I know you won't understand that.
