I guess I am confused about why polygamy needs to be conflated with very young women. And also why we should stay out of a situation that could involve coerced marriage for minors. But also, why- because it's been done in the past- does this make it somehow acceptable that young women marry old men without choice? (I am carefully avoiding the Anna Nicole Smiths!) There were a lot of reasons back "then" that made this a necessary practice that don't really exist today. Women died frequently in childbirth and at young ages; women had no rights; women were basically chess pieces who were traded for the property they brought with them. Force when it involves a 15-16 year old isn't legally necessary for rape to occur.
