In that case, to continue on with your argument, you should not worry at all about what you term (incorrectly) as entitlements. You should only decry that any Social Security payments that are above the level of a balanced budget be made at all.

The programs are known as entitlements. Nothing incorrect about calling them that, at least not when using the word as a term of art. If your using in the ordinary English sense of the word than it becomes a debate about whether people are entitled to receive these benefits, but that debate would be irrelevant to the issues in this discussion.

As for decrying payments that are enough to make the budget out of balance - What connection does that have with my post. I post wasn't about budget balances at all. The issue I have is with government spending that is too high, and that (mostly because of entitlements) is apparently going to continue to increase at too high of rate.
