CCUR is in the best shape of the VOD vendors. They switched to Dell years ago. SEAC, and as far as I know Motorola/Broadbus, assemble their own or use proprietary. IBM has been also working years with IBM Blade servers for Real Time applications like the Navy's Aegis Ship systems.

SEAC still uses Microsoft OS so they would be the logical acquisition target of HP, if they ever decided to get back in the Application business. They scrapped the Walmart download Video Merchant Services.

Europe is very Linux friendly, so CCUR's systems are a great fit.

Lucent was one of the first US companies to come up on SAP and they used HP from the beginning on those internal backoffice applications. I have never heard of a company migrating off of SAP once they switch so Alcatel probably had no choice.

However this is completely different than VOD and whether Alcatel is in the hosting business of their customers.
