I hope you are right. Doesn't Michigan also have one of the worst economies in the United States right now? Houses in Detroit selling for under $20,000.

When it comes down to it, the economy is what really motivates people to vote, not the extraneous issues on the political landscape. Perhaps medical marijuana's best hope is that Obama becomes President this fall and the Democrats sweep into big majorities in Congress, thus opening a new liberal era where medical marijuana can be talked about in the mainstream. But since liberal states like NY, NJ and even MA have been slow to address medical marijuana, I'm not sure about this.
