John - the theory of Peak Oil is based on physical production limitations. What we are seeing is more political limitations. The bulk of world oil is controlled by national oil companies who are not investing sufficiently to maintain production. Mexico is an example. Whatever the theoretical maximum production it is not hard to see that the big numbers projected as being needed will be hard to obtain. We are limiting our own production due to political restrictions as well.
