So let me get this straight. The PC is NOT doomed but at Compusa, consumers will go in and NOT buy a WINDOWS PC, but instead buy some kind of stripped down device form sunw or oracle or from someone with their software. So, no more Windows huh?
So how come we don't hear or read about cpq, hwp, gtw, dell, ibm, PB NEC even hinting that they are set to offer these NON MSFT devices to consumers, let alone business. You should know that msft now OWNs the most succesful thin client to consumers. I guess since webtv is not owned by sunw, it CAN"T be succesful though if your prophesy (I won't say prediction) comes true, IT stands to be the clear winner. Why don't you just admit that you have an emotional HATRED for msft and get on with it?
To make it clear: THERE IS ZERO chance that the consumers of the world will cease buying windows PCs as they exisit today simply becasue you believe they will. On the contrary, ALL evidence points to the consumers of the world buying MORE PCs next year, than they did this year. There has to be a real reason that they will not and so far, there is ZERO evidence.
Action item for Addi: Perhaps you can show me where hwp, ibm, dell, gtw, cpq, pb, nec first, are working on introducing ANY NON-microsoft clients, and second, when I can BUY a NON microsoft client from these companies? Do you foolishly believe that suddenly, consumers will STOP buying computing devices from these companies and SUDDENLY start buying unproved units from a bunch of nonames? You have made quite a claim here. Care to back it up with anything more than "if Addi says it, it must be so" rhetoric? |
