First off, thanks to Steve Harris, we know there are recorded statements of Hitler disavowing Christianity. I don't know of any statements where he disavowed socialism.

Second, you're judging Hitler's socialism as false because you think he didn't live according to the label. Yet socialism has taken many forms in many countries. Who is to say which form is illegitimate and which aren't.

You can claim if you wish that he didn't act the way you belive a real socialist should have acted. But you're even objecting to me even stating the simple fact that Hitler called himself a socialist. That's a matter of historical record, not a matter of interpretation of what socialism means and whether he deserves the name socialist or not.


I will continue to believe Hitler called himself and his party socialist, because he did.

Note that in the latest post you and Ted are objecting to I don't even argue the issue of whether he was legitimately a socialist or not. I simply state the fact he called himself one. Yet even that statement of fact is objectionable to liberals.
