You are the only voice I have heard who thinks that the 100 years comment is a huge game killer. If Obama was out on the stump humping the other slams on McCain I listed, I would be more inclined to agree with you.

But look at it this way. Assume McCain can smear-associate Obama with Wright and Ayers and the rest enough to win in the fall by 51%, while the Dems pick up seats in both houses of Congress.

Nothing changes in Iraq.

Very little changes in the budget.

No coherent energy policy is formulated or passed.

Something on global warming probably does pass.

Something on immigration probably passes.

Otherwise we get total gridlock with an even more poisonous partisan atmosphere, since the Dems will have more muscle in Congress and know they are just a whisker of sliming their own way back into the White House in 2012. With Hillary as their nominee.

That is the scenario which I think is total crap for this country right now. Apart from one other poster on this thread, I can't think of hardly anyone who would find that desirable.
