My take on the Livingston buyout:

This confirms that LU wants into remote access in a big way. Since they do not at present have the resources to buy out the recognized leader in RAS, ASND, they did the best they could and took out privately held Livingston.

Call me crazy, but I think the continued consolidation in the networkers is POSITIVE for ASND. Why? LU competes against other major telecom equipment suppliers who will see this acquisition as another sign of the merging of telecom and networking and will not want to be left out of the party.

There are several co's with the resources available to take out ASND. Each time a competitor gets taken out increases the chances that ASND will be next.
Also IMHO, the lower ASND's stock prices goes, the greater the chances we will see the 50's or 60's again soon due to a buy out.

So everybody go ahead and sell your shares now so we can let ASND tank into the 20's and get bought out. I'm ready to put this poor battered stock out of its misery.....

Regards,

Lee
