Right-wing talk radio is in decline as far as influencing opinions they way it once did. In every broad area, its pundits have been WRONG. Its followers have been steadily peeled off by the truth of events. At some point the spin loses its effectiveness and cynicsm sets in. We are there. Look at the 2006 elections. Look at the dem party primary turnouts. The only chance the Rs have is that they're running a moderate that even they can't get behind. The hideous caricature of the GOP that conservatism morphed into the last 8 years is dead. If McCain were younger, maybe, but his age is going to become painfully noticeable in the fall against either of these dems who can talk circles around him in interviews and debates.
