The racist card being played against Obama by Bill O'Reilly types is subtle but it is definitely racist and carefully conceived.

Uneducated white racist types don't much respond except negatively to the argument that blacks can have a rough time in our society even though its a statistical fact. The Rev. Wright sound bytes played over and over again generally voice this theme and I'm sure its had a toothless red neck or two yelling at the TV.

This what the Republican machine is brilliant at doing. Manufacturing mountains out of molehills and turning them into election issues. I remember some old lady being interviewed after the last election actually saying she voted for Bush because Kerry was a "flip-flopper". Sideshow Bob accused Bart of being a "flip-flopper" in a Simpson's episode - thats the kind of stupidity the Republicans count on.

That same redneck just may become bankrupt next year - like 100's of thousands of Americans do - due to his son getting leukemia or some other serious medical issue. Jeese his other son may come back from that abomination that is Iraq with half his head blown off or all sorts of psychological problems. Yet that moron will dependently vote Republican because Barrack doesn't wear a flag lapel pin or because Barrack once went to the house of some 60's radical.

I'm sure this 60's radical guys doesn't give out business cards that say "I once belonged to an organization that plotted to bomb the Pentagon". It truly is an non-issue - yet it has become one - as I say brilliant. The crazy thing is if you think about it - if thats the worst they can come up with about Obama - that he had a very casual encounter with a 60's radical - he's pretty clean.
