Re: Firesale

TED, I just wanted to follow up on yesterdays conversation. To make a long story short, I was able to purchase some shares of FBN and I am holding a pile of them right now. Go FBN! How I came upon my hoard was pure luck. Although those guys in the truck said it was because I am such a savvy investor.

Yes, you guessed it, I ran across these fine fellows when I was dropping my daughter off at her friend's house on the west side of town. You couldn't miss them, they now have a big sign on the side of the truck that says "FBN Stock for SALE". They were parked right on the corner next to those guys selling the velvet paintings. I am sure they didn't recognize me at first, because they looked real nervous when I started to approach them. By the way, I asked about my firewood delivery date and they said that the contract was on their boss's desk awaiting review by their legal department, but it should be any day now.

When you mentioned their truck yesterday, I remember you saying that they had a computer in the back, but I don't seem to recall any mention of the photocopy machine. Once we completed negotiations over the price, they fired up the photocopy machine and produced all the stock that I could afford. This photocopying thing worried me at first but when they explained that my copies had exactly the same value as the originals, I felt a little better. I didn't really feel comfortable until they told me that they were holding all the originals to keep them out of the reach of evil MMs running around naked without their shorts. At least I think that is what they said. I didn't quite understand this but having read a few threads on S.I., I know that these MM's are the cause of every bad thing that ever happened to a stock, so it doesn't completely surprise me that they would behave this way.

Before I headed home, I asked them about the computer in the back. They pointed over to a magnetic sign inside the truck. I could not read all of the sign, part of it was covered up, but it said:

..TEL Mobile
..de Factory

Then they explained that this guy, I mean Mr. Guy, ... I can't remember his first name. Well, he pays them to park in front of fortune 500 companies or military installation and to slap that sign on the side of the truck. When I asked what they do there, they said, "nothing, we just park the truck there". Wow, that sounds like easy money to me.

Regards

Tom
