I only just now found out what "kahuna" really means! Not being familiar with the word, I imagined it was Hawaiian for "tsunami". But what it really means is a sort of Hawaiian guru or medicine man. So maybe we have all been waiting for the wrong thing. A kind of Melanesian Second Coming? A Hawaiian Messiah? That's not what I thought I was looking for. I guess it is too late to change over to "Waiting for the Tsunami."
