Its been some time to put momentum energy to work by computer control, using Lincoln technology of the 1980s. It can almost extend to double the gas mileage.

Now its time to use satellite receiver to control spark advance on cars equipped as such. We have technology of natural gas addition in water logged alcohol gasoline. The fuel approaches diesel fuel in internal combustion engines. When it can climb hills without slowing down.

However, it needs more spark advance on high speed touring to approach the economy of diesel glow plug engines. Diesel fuel is slow burning. And glow plugs are always hot, so fuel burns for the entire duration of a 4 cycle engine. Natural gas also has to immediately burn as it enters the cylinders, and continue to burn when it exhausts. This will have the maximum torque same as diesel fuel. So far, we have not optimized the spark advance adjustment. Computer control will be easy to adjust for seasonal gas fuel composition adjustments thru satellite transmission regionally.

So, it will take gasoline composition and spark advance to get diesel type gasoline mileage.

Footnote:
VW has the same engine size for gasoline(35 miles per gallon) and diesel(50 miles per gallon). If gasoline engine uses partly natural gas in alcohol based gasoline, and proper spark advance, it can achieve 50 miles per gallon too. Without spark advance(not enough torque), the fuel can climb hills without slowing, but no mileage improvement.
