Yes I met him 30 min. prior to the Amati Press Conference. A few minutes later Jim Steenburgen arrived, we had 15 min of conversation, while waiting for the Conference Cubicle! Dr. Cioffi stepped in after about 10 minutes, he said "hello Jim" , Steenburgen & I both turned and saw him. Dr. C. said "I met Jim W." as he pointed towards me. Then Jim S. placed his hand out to shake mine. Five minutes later we entered the poorly placed Press conference cubicle (open at the top. I believe I read someone else here on SI attended the P. Conference. I had met Dr. Cioffi two days prior (Monday) At the IEEE Awards Luncheon where he received a Fellow Award. I attended and Video taped the entire presentation. I also taped "Getting Real about Multimedia Expectations" Seminar where Dr. Cioffi was one of 3 speakers. I recall carrying one of his cases as we departed the luncheon in Hall A, and made the long trek to Hall C, only to find the Seminar time was delayed an hour, lucky me! Anyway DJ attended for lack of the proper word(I forget)a celebration for Amati the next evening, given by a rather well known Brokerage Firm, etc. . JW@KSC
