Eagle Broadband still has a website maintained, although not news is current. We have to assume that company is bankrupt. There are no recent info.

It has a service business which installs DirecTV in the Huston area, which may be no longer operating.

It has a Florida ground station which send out 200+ channels of media using Mpeg4/h.264. It has to be converted from Mpeg2. This means the old encoder and decodes are only 70% compatible with their old set-top boxes. The set-top box business was sold before bankruptcy. To salvage this asset, Eagle Broadband may have to change all the conversion equipment and have a new set-top box compatible to the new converters.

It also has a network installed in a community around Houston area. It is managed by another company. News was that Eagle Broadband hoped to sell the network to the service company for over $2 million, but it fell through.

There were some talks of San Francisco service providers using the feed from their Florida ground station. But since then there may be technical problems with set-top boxes and compatibility.

It seems that the company is hopeless unless, they have the good luck of getting Mpeg3 to M[eg4/h.264 technology worked out by another investor. Then the network maybe worth some money to Comcast Cablevision. And their own service business of installing DirecTV will make some money.
