That's incorrect. Medicare would be a big buyer as is the VA but there are plenty of private buyers as well. At any rate, driving down prices is a good thing. Isn't that the entire point of a free market? Isn't that what all the right wingers say about the efficiency of the free market?

As it is THE ENTIRE POINT OF MEDICARE PART D is to destroy Medicare and further privatize everything. They are doing it with the war which is one reason the war in Iraq is so unbelievably expensive. If you are going to be a right wing capitalist then why are you bemoaning lower prices? Why?

As it is, the US is SUBSIDIZING drugs for other countries. They get lower prices (see the Frontline piece just aired on health care in other countries) because drug companies can charge lower prices in other countries since they make so much in the US market.

Does this make any sense to you? Is this the capitalist way?

You need to have information to support your positions and not just opinions.

Military specs are one thing but the VA does have better pricing for drugs so it can work. I know plenty of corporations who over spend for one thing or another. That is a human problem that exists in any organization government or private.
