Golden Phoenix Minerals President, in Internet Interview, Says Molybdenum Mining Will Be Springboard to Other Projects

SPARKS, Nev., April 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Golden Phoenix Minerals, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GPXM - News) President Robert P. Martin today, in an Internet interview with Francis Gaskins of StoxRox, said the Company is preparing itself to grow from a junior mining company to mid-tier. Mr. Martin said Golden Phoenix is unique among junior mining companies because it has the personnel and talent in-house to be both a producer of precious and strategic metals and an effective exploration company.

"We anticipate being in full production at the Ashdown molybdenum mine in 2008," Mr. Martin said. "During 2007, its first full year of production, Ashdown produced and sold more than $10 million of product, which represents only about 30% of the design capacity we expect to achieve."
In the interview Golden Phoenix Minerals' President explains the importance of moly to the world's economy and the fact that many competitors are having trouble producing the commodity to meet international quality standards. "That is, in part, why there has been a tenfold increase in price for moly in recent years and we believe that pressure on the demand side of the supply chain will continue," Mr. Martin observed.
