Effectively, a Democratic president can wind down our presence in Iraq and not invade anyone else. Effectively, a Democratic president and Congress can revise the tax cut structure. Effectively, a Democratic president and Congress can nominate and confirm Supreme Court judges. Effectively, a Democratic president and Congress can pass a more extensive healthcare plan than McCain wants. Ditto legislation on the environment and infrastructure priorities.

The only obstacle I see is the filibuster rule in the Senate. That could slow or block implementation, but I don't think they could do it often enough to stop the program and basically force a Democratic president to continue Bush's policies.

Do you? Because McCain sure will continue most of them.
