Expensive, can't be debated, although the reason for it can. There are quite a few factors that go in to US medical care being more expensive, it can't reasonably be tied down to the idea that we don't have a "single payer" system.

Quality can indeed be debated.

As could the impact on quality world wide if the US moved away from a system that encourages spending a lot on innovation.

Generally I prefer to discuss this specific issue here
