The highest costs in the world per capita buys us what?

-Not everyone even covered
-Exclusion of 'pre-existing' conditions
-Denial of care to even the fully insured
-100-200K deaths per year from medical malpractice
-The majority of doctors saying to go with nationalized health care
-16% of GDP to reach 20% of GDP
-decreasing (so far in limited segments) life expectancy
-not the top in life expectancy or infant mortality

Innovation? I will bet that the US's 'innovation' lead will be overcome within a generation by other countries. The CW used to yammer about how losing manufacturing would be replaced by higher end service jobs.

That worked out so well. They failed to see that service jobs often meant being a part time greeter at Walmart or answering an 800 number. The CW is consistently wrong and any reliance on the US's being the innovation leader is dead wrong as well.

30 years of right wing 'governance' has led us to the decline of the US empire. Sad but true. I don't know if, as with global warming, it is reversible but hiding our heads in the sand and claiming that we're still number 1 is a sure way to guarantee failure.
