First, drilling in my favorite place has nothing to do with me accepting a tax increase - I can afford it and it will not change my life a lick. Second, if we increase gasoline taxes we will have to do something else as such a tax is hugely regressive. You do care about the least of us - right?

Frankly, I believe tax increases on gasoline are part of any balanced plan that works. The concept of taxation is simple - if you want less of something you tax it - if you want more of something you tax it less.

Once again - a tax is a burden on the horse called our economy. What do we do for the economy to compensate for that impact?
