US doctors get sued because some of them have lousy bedside manners and tick off their patients. Some doctors everywhere have lousy bedside manners. But American doctors get sued more. And its not just American doctors that get sued more, Americans of all sorts get sued more. At the margin, life expectancy is slipping. No its growing. Life expectancy for some groups temporarily went down, but overall life expectancy has continued to grow. Also if you look at the details for the groups that have gone down, you'll notice things like "obesity", "poor diet", "patterns of smoking"... These are things that are not determined by our health care system or our methods of paying for it.
