Frankly, I wish our political process were more civil so the best candidates would run, not just those with thickest skins.

You have my 100% support on that one.

Lots of folks here feel pretty compromised on picking among these three candidates. You want someone further to the right but the primary process screened them out. My ideal would be the kind of moderate Democrat or Republican that hardly runs any more, as both parties became more ideological. I dislike Hillary personally and for her political style, and my policy preferences don't line up with McCain. He is not my kind of Republican, though for different reasons than yours.

Obama is the only one I find interesting as an experimental departure from the stale partisan gridlock we've seen for too many years now.

We pretty much have a wide range of POVs and preferences on the thread now. I don't expect anyone to convince anyone else; it rarely happens.

So a civil discussion of opinions and differences keeps us entertained.
