Life could be very difficult if you do not have core beliefs. It is like not having foundations and you can't get good footing to stand on anything.

However, it is possible that you are not standing on firm ground. In that case, you shouldn't be stubborn, or dogmatic about it, you better move and try to get firmer ground to stand on.

Life is not static. People who survive are those that are nimble. A person may not be so lucky as to be born near firm ground. They have to keep moving.

And, of course, there are all those situations that are not compatible with where you are standing and where you have to find common ground.

Life is not that simple that you can just stand there come hell or high water.
